Book week 2026 Author School Visits Melbourne

Book Week 2026 Author school Visits Melbourne – A Symphony of Stories

CBCA Early Childhood Book of the Year Shortlisted author Adelle Frittitta. That’s me! And I’m so excited to be offering author visits to primary schools this Book Week, running from Saturday 22 August to Friday 28 August 2026. Book week has always been such a heartwarming part of my life and takes me right back to loving books as an 8 year old!

This year’s Children’s Book Council of Australia theme, “Symphony of Stories,” feels especially beautiful! A celebration of all the different voices, rhythms, and moments that come together to create a love of reading.

I feel especially proud that My Nonno Loves, now shortlisted for the CBCA Early Childhood Book of the Year, sits so beautifully within this year’s theme, Symphony of Stories. It’s a reminder that every story no matter how quiet or specific, adds its own voice to the bigger picture, and that the stories we share about family, culture, and love all sound a little different… and that’s exactly what makes them so special.

During my author school visits, I bring My nonno Loves to life, through reading, fun activities, and conversations about how my sister and I made our book. We explore ideas around family, connection, and the small everyday moments that shape who we are. As an art teacher, all my school visits will be framed around art making (of course!).

Book Week is always such a special time in schools. Full of creativity, costumes, and a shared love of books, I’d love to be part of your celebrations in 2026!!
