Readings Kids 10th Birthday Celebration

Happy 10th Birthday, Readings Kids!

Ten years ago, Readings Kids Carlton, created a space dedicated entirely to children’s books, stories, imagination and young readers. A decade later, Readings Kids has become so much more than a bookshop. It has become a champion of children’s literature and a place where authors, illustrators, teachers, parents and young readers feel genuinely welcomed and celebrated.

As creators of children’s books, Claudia and I have been incredibly fortunate to experience that support firsthand.

From the very beginning of our publishing journey, the team at Readings has been enthusiastic, generous and encouraging. They have welcomed our books into their stores, helped connect them with readers, and made us feel part of the wider children’s book community. That support means more than we could ever express.

In a world filled with endless distractions, places like Readings Kids remind us of the magic that happens when a child finds the right book at the right time. They understand that children’s books matter. They know that stories help children make sense of the world, spark curiosity, build empathy and inspire creativity.

Congratulations to the entire Readings Kids team on ten wonderful years. Thank you for everything you do for children’s books, for Australian creators, and most importantly, for young readers.

Here’s to the next ten years of stories, imagination and inspiring children to fall in love with reading.
