Love Your Bookshop Day is an annual celebration of everything that makes local bookshops special—from knowledgeable staff and carefully chosen books to the events and conversations that bring readers, authors, and stories together.

In 2026, Bookshops across the country will once again host a range of activities to share the joy of reading.

It’s a great chance to explore what your local bookshop offers, discover new reads, meet authors, and connect with a community that loves books as much as you do.

I will be celebrating at Readings Chadstone with a special story time. Claudia will be there too! So come along and help us celebrate the amazing work that book shops do for the world of books!

Date: Saturday 6 December 2026
Time: 2 – 4pm
Locations: Carnegie Library & Community Centre
7 Shepparson Ave, Carnegie 3163

Get into the Christmas spirit with a relaxed afternoon of creative card making at Carnegie Library.

We’ll be using beautiful papers, patterns, textures and festive embellishments to create a collection of unique handmade Christmas cards. It’s a chance to slow down, get creative and enjoy some time away from the usual Christmas rush.

Whether you love scrapbooking or have never tried it before, come along, have a play with the materials and make something special to give to family and friends. ❤️
Everyone is encouraged to bring their own pictures to include in cards.

All materials supplied.

Bookings are essential. Check the Glen Eira Summer library program for details. Coming Soon.
